Big thank you to employers for senior leader apprenticeship revision

Posted by: , Posted on: - Categories: Apprenticeship standards, Employers

I am delighted to report that significant progress has been made with the development of an updated senior leader apprenticeship over the past month and can confirm the revision of the apprenticeship is almost complete.

The Secretary of State for Education requested the review back in February and we have been updating on developments through a series of blogs.

The leadership and management trailblazer group of employers and the Institute can now confirm that the revised ST0480_Senior_Leader_L7_end-point assessment plan  – which sets out how an apprentice will be assessed against the knowledge, skills and behaviours in the revised ST0480 Senior Leader - apprenticeship standard - has been approved.

The Institute is preparing to recommend a new funding band to the Secretary of State for Education and has notified the trailblazer group of this. The trailblazer now has the opportunity to consider this before any such recommendation is made to the Secretary of State.

I would like to thank the employers for all of the work and time they have devoted to getting us to this point.

The Institute recognises the value to the economy and employers’ productivity provided by great senior leadership. We believe we have an even stronger apprenticeship standard for supporting the growth and development of the senior leader workforce.
